The Knox County Indiana Sheriffs Department along with local and area law enforcement remain on the lookout for a Kentucky man wanted in connection with an apparent armed carjacking in Vincennes Thursday morning. Reports indicate that deputies were called to the Red Roof Inn located on Old Decker Road around 7 a.m. ET about suspicious people spotted around the building. Upon arrival, they came upon a male and female who began to run when approached. The female was caught while the man was able to get away. A gunshot was heard a short time later in the parking lot. Apparently the male  identified as 40 year old Ray Tate from Hopkinsville Kentucky fired a gun into a car and forced the driver out then took off. The vehicle was a red Chevrolet Equinox. It was located later Thursday afternoon but Tate was not with the vehicle and remains at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest law enforcement authority.  He is considered as armed and dangerous. Meanwhile the female detained at the scene was identified as 38 year old Lacey Angle of Lawrenceville. She was preliminarily charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of a Syringe.
