The Bridgeport City Council met in regular session Tuesday night and did approve a water purchase contract with the South Lawrence Water Corporation. The agreement benefits both the city and the corporation as it will create an inter-city connect which will allow both entities to supply each other water in times of emergency and would only be used in those type of situations. Mayor Tyler Griffin told WAKO News that South Lawrence is seeking grant money to finance the installation of the pumps and housing. The move was made upon recommendation of the council’s water committee. The council did enter into executive session for approximately 10 minutes and emerged to vote to give city employees $1000 Christmas bonuses.
