The Lawrenceville City Council met Thursday evening in regular session and took actions to improve the infrastructure and to land grant money for a planned downtown pavilion. They approved a service agreement with the engineering firm of HLR to determined the projected costs and funding availability for 2 street improvement projects on Lexington and 12th Streets which will use dedicated state monies. Also approved was an EPA mandated study of the phosphorous emissions from the city wastewater treatment plant in order to institute a reduction plan in the future. The council also approved the seeking of a downtown beautification grant of close to $500,000 for the building of a downtown pavilion. The effort is in collaboration with the Downtown Revitalization Committee and the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission.
