Frontier College, Lincoln Trail College, Olney Central College and Wabash Valley College awarded nearly $180,000 to area high school students in the first round of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Priority Deadline Success Scholarships. The program which was initiated in 2020 makes tuition awards to students in the District 529 area who have committed to attending IECC schools. First round recipients were notified just prior to Thanksgiving with 254 students from 18 area high schools getting scholarships. 18 students from Lawrence County were awarded scholarships totalling over $12,000. The next Priority deadline is February 25th of 2022. Students interested in applying can go the the iecc.org/priority website to begin the process. Awards will be announced in mid-March.
