Lawrence County States Attorney Michael Strange has announced that three people were recently sentenced to prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court. 50 year old Michael French of Carmi was given 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) to run concurrent with a sentence from White County for breaking probation on a Class 3 Illinois felony charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. He was also given 1 year of mandatory supervised release. 53 year old Charles Richardville of Sumner was given 2 1/2 years in the IDOC and 1 year of mandatory supervised release after pleading guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with 1 year of mandatory supervised release. 38 year old Kari Brochin of Bruceville Indiana received 3 years in the IDOC for violating probation on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Illinois felony. She also gets 1 year of mandatory supervised release. All three were also ordered to pay all previously imposed fines and assessments.
