Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has released his department activity report for October. During the month, the department received 340 requests for an officer. Officers were involved in 16 drug investigations, 9 assault and battery investigations, 9 vandalism investigations, 6 shoplifting investigations, 4 theft investigations, 3 burglary investigations and 8 cases of child abuse and neglect. They made 19 felony, 18 misdemeanor and 2 juvenile arrests and issued 9 ordinance violations. The department handled 15 traffic accidents during October-12 involved property damage, 2 were personal injury mishaps and there was a single case of hit and run. Lawrenceville also assisted the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and Illinois State Police twice in October and emergency fire and medical personnel 3 times.
