The Gibson County Indiana man charged with the murder of his mother earlier this month made a video court appearance this week. 47 year old David Crowe is alledged to have stabbed his mother 72 year old Viola Clardy to death. She was reported missing from her Lyles Station Road home and authorities later found her body in a nearby woods covered in blood-stained clothing, sheets, and blankets. After questioning by police, Crowe did confess to the killing and was formally charged. During the court proceeding, a motion for an insanity defense and a motion for a mental evaluation for Crowe was granted by the presiding judge. He remains in custody and is scheduled to be back in court on Wednesday January 5th.
