The Vincennes Board of Works and Safety took steps to fight hunger Monday when they approved an over $22,500 draw of the $100,000 the city received for COVID-19 Phase III relief. The money will be divided among 5 food pantries in the Vincennes area. The board also approved a $198,000 contract with the Knox County Economic Development Corporation and the annual city holiday schedule. Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand reported that his department has 4 current openings with oral interviews now being conducted with candidates. Parks superintendent Chris Moore reported that roof replacement project work is underway at the Gregg Park Shelterhouse.
