The Lawrenceville City Council met Thursday evening and did approve the annual Tax Levy Ordinance of $535,600. a 4% increase from the previous year levy amount. Mayor David Courtney reported to the council that the city has received it’s first installment of American Cares Act funding $299,000 for COVID-19 relief with no specific decisions yet made on where to spend the money. He also said that the city is consulting experts to help determine the extent of needed upgrades to the City Park Pool. The council approved the over $77,000 purchase of a new 2022 dump truck for the city. Halloween trick or treat hours were set for Lawrenceville with trick or treating set for Saturday October 30th from 5 until 8 p.m. Those who wish to be visited are asked to leave porch lights on that evening.
