Illinois State Police District 12 out of Effingham has released the results of Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols (OREP) here in Lawrence County and in neighboring Crawford County in September. Those patrols funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation focused on seat belt usage and compliance. There were 25 safety belt citations issued with no child safety seat violations recorded. There were 37 total citations issued along with 15 written warnings.
