The Bridgeport City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening at City Hall and sent to committee for further discussion uses of the American Rescue Care Plan money. Those funds were received by the city for COVID-19 relief and can be used in a number of ways including infrastructure, safety equipment and backpay for employee work. The discussions will look to prioritize uses for the money for both the police and city maintenence departments. Mayor Tyler Griffin also reported that the Lanterman Park Baseball Field lighting project was nearing completion. The council did set Halloween trick or treat hours for Sunday October 31st from 6 until 8 p.m. Those who want to be visited should leave their porch lights on during those hours.
