Illinois State Police say they are releasing photos of the arm tattoos on the body of a dead male subject found in the Little Wabash River near Effingham in mid-September. The discovery was made by two kayakers traveling down the river. The body is that of a white male of unknown age and average build weighing between 160 to 180 pounds. Nautical star tattoos were on both of his arms with flames on both biceps. The man was wearing gray boxer briefs with no shirt. A fingerprint has been submitted but did not hit on the state or national database and a DNA sample was also submitted for identification, but that process will take several months to complete. Anyone with any information on the identity can contact the Effingham County Sheriffs Department or the Illinois State Police.
