The U.S. Postal Service is warning Lawrence County customers and others using the mail across the state and entire country about temporary mail delays as it implements new operational practices. Starting Friday, new delivery standards will impact first class mail and periodical delivery. The changes will result in longer transit times for cross county and other long distance mail deliveries. The USPS also has announced a temporary holiday price increase on all commercial and retail domestic packages starting in October through Christmas.
