The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,669 new cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 33 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 18 new positive cases Thursday with 134 active and 4 local hospitalizations. There were 19 new cases in Knox County Thursday. Currently, the IDPH is reporting a total of 1,627,508 cases of the disease since the pandemic began with 24,976 deaths. A total of 14,555,022 vaccinations have been administered in Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. On Wednesday 27,907 vaccinations shots were given at sites across the state. The LCHD now indicates that about 35% of the total Lawrence County population has now been fully vaccinated.
