The Illinois Department of Public Health has adopted the Center for Disease Control recommendations for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster shot. That was announced this past weekend by IDPH Director Dr Ngozi Ezike. IDPH also reported there are now 1,612,129 cases of coronavirus across the state with 24,783 deaths since the pandemic began. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 8 positive cases Friday with 117 active and 2 hospitalizations. There were 29 positive cases reported in Knox County Sunday. A total of 14,419,886 vaccines have now been administered at sites across the state since the pandemic began. The LCHD indicates that close to 35%–34.65% of the total county population has now been fully vaccinated.
