Charles Lewis “Louie” Campbell, Sr.

Charles Lewis “Louie” Campbell, Sr., age 71 of Indianapolis and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 in Indianapolis at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. He was born July 12, 1950 in Lawrenceville to Ralph Jackson Campbell and his wife Louella Vere (Longbons) Campbell.

Louie married Brenda Kay Bellinger in St. Francisville on February 14, 1975, and she survives.

As a young man, Louie served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1970 thru 1972. Once returning home, he worked as a union concrete finisher along side his father. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter in the St. Francisville area for Denison Fire Protection District. Louie also earned an Associates Degree from Vincennes University in Architectural Drafting.

Surviving family includes: his wife- Brenda Campbell of Lawrenceville: two children- Charles Lewis “Louie” Campbell, Jr. of Lawrenceville and Tina Huber of Newton: two sisters- Loretta Moody and husband Fred of Mt. Carmel and Penny Loewen and husband Rodney of Mt. Carmel: one brother- Jack Campbell and wife Carla of St. Francisville: six grandchildren- Kayla Gardner, Faith Campbell, Julia Campbell, Christian Cochran, Cameron Cochran, and Devon Huber: and one great-grandson- Silas Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Trevor Cochran.

A visitation will take place Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery of St. Francisville.
