The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,975 new cases of coronavirus across the state Tuesday with 39 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 22 positive cases Tuesday with 166 active cases and 2 hospitalizations. Overall since the pandemic began in Illinois, there have now been 1,578,198 cases of the disease with 24,407 deaths. A total of 12,218,536 vaccines have now been administered in Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with 9,979 doses put into people’s arms at sites across the state Monday. The Lawrence County vaccination rate continues to inch up with now 33.80% of the total population fully vaccinated.
