The Vincennes University Alumni Association has changed it’s plans for the presentation of the 2020 Walter A. Davis Memorial Citation for Service Award Wednesday. The event will now honor Dr Daniel Combs virtually at 6 p.m. EDT from the Green Activities Center on the VU campus. It had been planned originally as a dinner at Adams Coliseum. Combs himself is unable to travel and will not attend in person. Instead his family and friends along with members of the VU Alumni and Foundation office and university president Dr. Chuck Johnson will present the award virtually in a 45 minute ceremony to be broadcast via Zoom and Facebook. The Davis Citation has been awarded annually since 1952 and honors a VU alumnus or resident of the greater VU community for their civic leadership and contributions and their professional achievements.
