Lawrenceville Police have now completed their investigation of a single vehicle accident late last week in which 1 person was injured and also ticketed. Reports indicate that on Thursday September 9th a 2000 Mercury being driven by Brenda Shields of Lawrenceville was turning west onto Collins Avenue from 15th Street when she lost control of the vehicle. It veered off the road and into a residential fence, landscaping and a staircase with handrail before coming to rest. Shields was hurt and taken by ambulance to Lawrence County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her vehicle suffered extensive front end damage and was towed from the scene. After looking into the mishap, authorities did ticket Shields with Illegal Transportation of Alcohol in a Vehicle and Operation of a Vehicle Without a Valid License.
