Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has issued his departmental activity report for August. The department received 318 requests for an officer during the month. Officers were involved with 15 drug investigations, 8 assault and battery investigations, 6 theft investigations, 5 burglary investigations, 4 stolen vehicle cases, 3 vandalism cases and 2 shopliftings cases during August. There were 21 misdemeanor arrests, 16 felony arrests and 2 juvenile arrests with 15 ordinance violations issued. Lawrenceville Police handled 7 traffic accidents during August with 6 of those involving property damage and 1 personal injury. They did assist the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and Illinois State Police 3 times during the month and emergency fire and medical services 3 times.
