Authorities in neighboring Crawford County are continuing to investigate extensive vandalism done this past Labor Day weekend at Leaverton Park in Palestine. Reports indicate that restrooms at both the park and the rodeo arena were damaged along with other areas of the park late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Police say that a reward of up to $1000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators in the case.
