The Illinois Department of Public Health has reported 30,319 new cases of coronavirus since reporting Friday August 27th with an additional total of 178 deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 11 new cases Friday in the county with 141 cases still active and 5 hospitalizations. There were 97 new cases reported over the Labor Day holiday weekend in Knox County Indiana. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,538,324 cases of the disease in Illinois with 24,067 total deaths. Over 14 million vaccines have now been administered at sites across the state since the vaccine rollout began with 185,000 doses administered Friday. The latest CDC information indicates that more than 78% of all Illinois adults have received at least 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 61% of Illinois adults are now fully vaccinated.
