The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 5,178 new cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 26 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 14 positive cases Wednesday with 135 still active and 4 hospitalizations. Neighboring Crawford County reported 15 new cases and Knox County Indiana has 12 new cases. Overall since the pandemic began, there have now been 1,528,120 cases of the disease with 23,979 deaths. Over 13.9 million vaccines have been administered at sites across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. On Tuesday, there were over 29,000 doses given to residents.
