The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,180 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 14 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 23 positive cases Tuesday and Wednesday, Richland County 12 new positive cases, Clay County 21 new cases and Knox County Indiana 96 new cases Thursday as the Delta variant continues to spread. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,477, 465 cases of the disease with 23,699 deaths in Illinois. A total of over 13.7 million vaccines have now been administered in the state since the vaccination rollout began with over 26,ooo people receiving shots Wednesday.
