Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has released his departmental activity report for the month of July. Lawrenceville Police received 315 requests for an officer. They were involved with 12 drug investigations, 10 assault and battery investigations, 5 burglary investigations, 3 vandalism investigations, 2 theft investigations and 2 stolen vehicle reports. They also checked out a single case of shoplifting and 6 cases of child abuse and neglect. 12 traffic accidents were handled in July–11 were property damage and there was 1 hit and run incident. The department did assist the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and Illinois State Police twice in July and emergency fire and medical personnel 4 times during the month.
