The Vincennes City Council met in regular session Monday and heard from Mayor Joe Yochum that the city has a new parks and recreation superintendent. Christopher Moore takes over the position after spending several years in the military. His wife is a Knox County native. Moore replaces            longtime parks superintendent Steve Beamon who recently resigned. The council also heard that the city fire department is making two promotions to fill retirements including replacing Sonny Pinkstaff who had been with the department for almost 35 years including a stint as Chief. After a public hearing, the council approved on 2nd and final readings an ordinance vacating a portion of the alley on Main Street and tabled until the next meeting any action on the voluntary annexation of the Hillcrest and Bruceville Road areas.
