The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for a brief period for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville. It extends from Tuesday through late Wednesday. The river is on the rise due to extensive recent rainfall in the upper Embarras River basin. That water is now traveling downstream and will cause some minor flooding in the Lawrenceville area. The river was at 27.2 feet Tuesday morning and is expected to get up to 30.7 feet-a little above the 30 foot flood stage sometime Wednesday and then crest and begin to fall. Again no significant flooding is anticipated.
