The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,565 new cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 6 additional deaths as cases continue to rise through infection of the Delta variant among the unvaccinated. The metrics locally in Lawrence County reflect the upward rise with 17 positive cases reported Monday by the health department. There are 73 active cases now in the county and hospitalizations are up to 4. Knox County Indiana reported 10 new cases Monday. Over 13.4 million vaccinations have been administered across Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with over 106,000 vaccinations this past weekend. The Lawrence County vaccination percentage remains close to 32% of the total population.
