The Knox County Chamber of Commerce sponsored 2021 2 day Watermelon Festival gets underway Friday and continues Saturday on Patrick Henry Square in downtown Vincennes. The annual event celebrates the growing of watermelons, a staple crop, in Knox County. The activities kick off Friday at 5 p.m. EDT with vendors opening followed by a free 6 p.m. concert and the 7 p.m. watermelon eating contest. Saturday is full of things to do and see ranging from the 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m. EDT, 3 on 3 basketball tournament at 9 a.m., baby/toddler pageant at 10 a.m., variety show at 1 p.m. to the Watermelon Queen Contests beginning at 3 p.m. The entire family is welcome to attend.
