The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that Illinois Route 1 at Gordon Junction east of Robinson will be closed Thursday and Friday of this week. The closure will allow for the upgrade work on the railroad crossing signals there and the addition of gates at the crossing. No traffic will be permitted on Illinois Route 1 between Illinois Route 33 and east CR 950 except for local traffic. People traveling in the area should be aware and pay close attention to work zone signs, speed limits and workers and equipment.
