The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 11,882 new and confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state last week with 39 more deaths. Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise by 46% over the previous week and hospitalizations were up 35% statewide as of last Friday. The most recent Lawrence County Health Department figures as of Friday showed 4 positive cases with 42 active and 2 hospitalizations. More than 74% of Illinois adults have received at least 1 vaccine shot and more than 58% of Illinois adults are fully vaccinated. The Lawrence County vaccinations numbers are beginning to creep up a little towards 32% of the total population vaccinated.
