IDPH ADOPTING NEW MASKING GUIDANCE

flu-virus

Lawrence County and other Illinois residents will need to get out their masks again. That is because the Illinois Department of Public Health has fully adopted the updated Center for Disease Control and Prevention masking recommendations to protect against COVID-19 and the Delta variant. The recommendations are that everyone including fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas with substantial and high transmission rates and that universal indoor masking take place for all teachers, staff, students and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show only 2 positive cases as of Tuesday with 13 cases active and 2 hospitalizations.
