AIR QUALITY ALERT

The National Weather Service and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency have issued an Air Quality Alert until midnight CDT for the entire WAKO listening area. An Air Quality Alert is issued and declared when weather conditions are such that widespread ozone and or air quality particulate levels are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive groups. Active children and adults especially people with pulmonary or respiratory diseases such as asthma should limit prolonged and strenuous outdoor activity.
