The Lawrence County 12 year old Cal Ripken All-Stars fell short in their effort to capture the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament in Lexington Kentucky last week. After going 1-1 in pool play Thursday, the squad was edged 6-5 Friday by Campbellsville Ky to finish at 1-2 overall in their pool. That was not enough to advance to the Saturday single elimination tournament. The team and it’s coaches and fans had an excellent post-season run highlighted by winning the Illinois state title in Mattoon.
