The Sumner City Council meeting in special session at City Hall Tuesday evening approved the purchase of a downtown building for city department storage and potential office use. The move was made to aqquire the former D and S location at 224 South Christy Street for $36,000. Mayor Betty Brian says the close proximity of the building to the current City Hall was an advantage. The city had been looking for such a building and had even thought about building their own. The purchase will be paid for through funds in the city’s Projects fund.
