The Illinois State Champion Lawrence County Cal Ripken 12 year old All-Stars are preparing for their trip to the 7 team Ohio Valley Regional Tournament next week in Lexington Kentucky. Players on the team are raising money to cover travel expenses and hotels through the sale of tickets to a pork chop dinner on Tuesday July 20th from 4 until 7 p.m. at Grays in Bridgeport. They are $12 and available in advance from any team member. Any other donations to help with the trip are welcomed. Lawrence County captured the Illinois state title last weekend in Mattoon. The Ohio Valley Regional Tournament begins play on Wednesday July 21st through Sunday July 25th.
