The city of Vincennes has a new assistant police chief. Officer Mark Hensley was sworn in to that position Monday by Mayor Joe Yochum at the Board of Works and Safety meeting at City Hall. He takes over for the retiring Terry Johnson. The Board also during the session approved the 2021 Vincennes Lincoln Homecoming activities at the downtown Riverfront Pavilion on Friday September 17th, gave the go ahead to a street closure on Saturday July 24th for a celebration by the Vincennes Brewery and approved a requested curb cut to the new Culver’s Resteraunt location. They also approved after an appeal hearing the recommended euthanizations of two pet dogs involved in a recent fierce attack on another dog as per city ordinance.
