Officials with Red Hill Unit #10 were scheduled to meet via ZOOM with the Illinois State Board of Education Thursday regarding it’s probationary status. In late May, the Unit #10 Board of Education voted to make mask wearing for students and staff “recommended” but not “mandatory.” The decision went against ISBE and Illinois Department of Public Health policy mandating masks be worn in schools and the ISBE notified Unit 10 that it could face non-recognition due to the decision. Unit 10 was later placed on probation with a ZOOM conference set for 11 a.m. Thursday July 8th to review the ongoing situation. The Unit #10 Board does have a regularly scheduled meeting next week on Thursday July 15th.
