NEW COUNTY TIME CAPSULE BURIED

The 200th anniversary celebration of Lawrence County concluded Tuesday afternoon as a new time capsule was buried on the courthouse grounds in Lawrenceville. The burial follows the unearthing and revelation Sunday of a previous time capsule buried July 4th 1971. The new capsule included photos and information on local businesses and organizations along with technology items such as a smartphone and momentos from local families and individuals. The site is located on the northwest side of the courthouse lawn near the veterans monument. The burial location is marked by a new stone donated by the Emmons-Macey Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. The capsule will be dug up on July 4th 2071.
