Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Scott Burkhart, age 38, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his residence. He was born on June 18, 1983 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Stefanie Burkhart Roberson. He married Jennifer Wimberly on May 21, 2010, and she survives.
Nate was a truck driver for Wabash Foods. He was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church. His hobbies included listening to music while sitting around the campfire, fishing, riding his motorcycle, as well as spending time with his children and dog, Bella. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; mother and father, Stefanie and Gary Roberson of Edwardsport, Indiana; seven children, Taylor Mae York of Indiana, Nick Persohn of Indiana, Trevor Wimberly of Illinois, Ryan Wimberly of Illinois, Blake Bull of Illinois, Devon Wimberly of Illinois, and Peyton Burkhart of Illinois; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wendy and Charles Gossett II, Vonda and Heath Medler, and Stephanie and Ralph Wimberly III; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM CDT at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, with military rites. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
