Georgina Rose, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, July 03, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on May 18, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Udell and Margaret (Fieten) Sopha. She married Kenneth G. Rose on May 11, 1957, and he preceded her in death.
Georgina worked at Radio Materials Corporation in Attica, Indiana, Lindees Restaurant in Covington, Indiana, and as the biscuit maker at Hardee’s in Lawrenceville; she was also a seamstress on the side. Her memberships included the St. Lawrence Catholic Church; American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as Chaplin and Membership Chairman; VFW #2244 Auxiliary, where she served as a Guard; Korean War Vets in Danville, Illinois; and Lawrence County Lunatic Red Hat Society.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one brother, Francis J. Sopha.
Survivors include two children, Joseph Rose and wife, Jan and Gina Marie Rose all of Lawrenceville, Illinois
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday, July 07, 2021 at 11:00 AM CDT at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CDT at the church. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
