The Maxine Spitler Foundation has announced the awarding of grants totalling over $34,500 to 13 applicants from Lawrence and Jasper Counties for funding of their projects. Among the recipients in Lawrence County are Red Hill Unit 10 with 3 awards–over $1400 for music equipment and advanced music method books for grades 7-12 at the Jr.Sr High School, over $1400 for Ultra Exercise Balls for the PE Department at the Sumner Attendence Center and over $2400 for Electric Pottery Wheels for the Jr/Sr High School Art Departments. The Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) Lawrence County Outreach office will get $1000 for the school supply program for county low income children grades K-12 and the Lawrence County Humane Society will receive over $2400 for it’s spay and neuter program.
