Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum announced this week that preparations continue for the annual 4th of July celebration Sunday sponsored by the city.  Area residents are invited to attend all the activities downtown on the Patrick Henry Square with food and merchandise vendors available. Beginning at 2 p.m. EDT Sunday, all streets that will be used for parade preparations and the parade will be blocked off. The parade itself begins at 6 p.m. EDT at Second and Hart Streets. Trash bags will be distributed to the public along the parade route for disposal of trash. Those can be left curbside after the parade for city pickup. The fireworks display will begin at dusk from the Lincoln Memorial Bridge spanning the Wabash River. The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 6 p.m. EDT on both the Indiana and Illinois sides with traffic detoured.
