The Unit 20 Board of Education has gone in-house to fill the vacant Parkview assistant principal and dean of students position. Superintendent Doug Daugherty says that Travis Reider was selected from among 4 applicants after the interview process. He previously had experience with such duties as an Athletic Director and Administrator at Oblong and replaces Kyle Shelton who resigned at the end of the year for another out of district position. The board did approve the amended 2020-21 budget after a public hearing. they discussed parking area repairs and heating and air conditioning upgrades at Parkview Junior High but made no firm decisions with the Building and Grounds committee expected to study and review cost estimates for the work. Approved were district fees for the 2021-22 school year and a proposal from Heartland Mechanical Contractors to replace 4 compressors at Lawrenceville High School.
