The Bi-State Authority is looking at granting the request by the Illinois National Guard to renew their lease on a storage area at the Mid-American Air Center northeast of Lawrenceville. They have used the east gravel pit area of the property as a training site for a number of years. The Authority is also looking at a request by the Wabash Valley Soaring Association for a 10 year renewal of the lease on their hangers and buildings at the airport. Airport manager Kurt Schwartz reported that Joe O’Neal has been hired as the new Maintenence Supervisor for the airport replacing Mark Ruppel in that position. He also indicated that initial planning is continuing regarding the 2024 eclipse and the anticipated influx of people who will come to the airport and surrounding areas.
