Coronavirus numbers continue to fall across the state. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported only 244 new cases with just 14 deaths Monday. The Lawrence County Health Department did not report any new cases Monday with the case total remaining at 2,483 and no new deaths. There were no new cases in Knox County Indiana Monday with the case total there stationary at 3,751 with no additional deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,385,489 cases of the disease with 22,963 deaths. 11,664,700 vaccinations have occured statewide since the vaccine rollout began with over 33,407 people getting shots Monday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says more than 68% of Illinois adults have received at least 1 COVID-19 vaccine dose and more than 51% of Illinois adults are fully vaccinated. The Lawrence County vaccination rate has risen up to 29%. Of the over 15,000 people in the county, over 4400 people have received shots. Illinois governor J.B. Pritzker remained optimistic that the state will enter it’s Phase 5 full reopening stage by this Friday, June 11th.
