The biggest golf weekend of the year in Lawrence County is upon us. The annual Lawrence County Open golf tournament takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Lawrence County Country Club located west of Lawrenceville. Some of the finest amateur golfers from the area are in the field for the various flights of play including the championship flight. Zack Breault of Bridgeport is the defending champion. The preliminaries of the Open weekend begin Friday with the annual AM-AM tournament followed by the annual Shootout in the evening. Opening round play on the 9 hole par 36 course begins Saturday morning with the final round on Sunday.
