IMPAIRED WOMAN WITH KIDS ARRESTED

An impaired southwestern Indiana woman was arrested while transporting two children Monday night. Indiana State Police report that around 9 p.m., a trooper stopped a 2002 Buick being driven by 33 year old Megan Skidmore of Princeton for driving left of center on Indiana State Road 64 in Gibson County. Skidmore’s 9 year old daughter and 3 year old son were inside the car at the time. While speaking with Skidmore, the trooper detected the smell of alcohol coming from her and saw two empty alcohol containers inside the drivers side door. Skidmore also displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests at the scene. Further investigation revealed she had a blood alcohol content of .22%, well above the legal limit in Indiana. Skidmore was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail in Princeton where she was charged with Operation of a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Passengers less than 18, a Level 6 Indiana Felony, an Open Alcohol Container Violation and Driving Left of Center. She was being held on bond and her two kids were released into the custody of a family member.
