The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday reported 1,918 new cases of coronavirus across the state with 35 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department indicating no new cases.  The case total remains at 2475 with 10 active and 1 hospitalization and also no new deaths. 6 new cases were reported Thursday in Knox County Indiana with the case total rising to 3726 total and no new deaths. Overall in Illinois since the pandemic began, there have been 1,361,666 cases of the disease with 22,320 deaths. A total of 10,179,004 vaccines have been administered across Illinois since the pandemic began with over 68,000 people being vaccinated Thursday. The LCHD is hosting a J and J single dose, Pfizer and Moderna drive through vaccination clinic Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at their main office located on US 50 west of Lawrenceville near the Lawrence County Country Club. No appointments are necessary and driveups are welcome. The clinic is for ages 12 and up. 3,494 of the 15,765 people in Lawrence County have now been fully vaccinated-about 22%. The state of Illinois Friday officially moved into the “Bridge Phase” with restrictions loosened. You can visit the IDPH or LCHD websites for more specifics. If COVID-19 metrics continue to decline, the state could move to Phase 5 (Full Reopening) in about 1 month. Governor J.B. Pritzker noted that the state will continue to follow CDC guidelines on masks with those who are fully vaccinated now able to discontinue wearing them both inside and outside.
