CUBS SNAP LOSING SKID

The Chicago Cubs got solid starting pitching from Adbert Alzolay and erupted for 9 runs on 16 hits in a 9-3 win Thursday night over the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Alzolay went 6 innings for his first win of the season and also picked up his first major league hit in the contest. Anthony Rizzo had three hits to lead the Cub offense in snapping a 5 game losing streak. The win improves the team to 11-14 heading to Cincinnati to begin a three game weekend series Friday night against the Reds. Jake Arrieta (3-2) will go for the Cubs against Wade Miley (2-2) for the Reds. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO FM beginning with the pregame at 5:35 p.m. Central Time and the first pitch at 6:10 p.m.
